TGIFYGDF…Thank Goodness It’s Feed Your Good Dog Friday!

ARTISTS AT TANNERY ROW ARTIST COLONY ENCOURAGE EACH OTHER TO IMPROVE ON THEIR TALENTS AND PUT OUT SOME PRETTY FASCINATING PIECES OF ART IN THE PROCESS!
Tannery Row Website Header

Judy Isaak, Artist/Potter

Tannery Row Artist Colony is a visual arts center housing over 18 artists with galleries and studios. The historic Tannery building was renovated in 2003 and is located on West Main Street in Buford, Georgia.

Judy Isaak… Artist, Potter, Maker…joined the ranks of artists at Tannery Row Artist Colony in 2004 and made art her full time job. She is largely self-taught. She will tell you that although it takes a long time to learn that way, it means that she is always learning. She is surrounded by other artists and as a result she continues to learn more about herself, other art forms, and how they relate to her own work.

Judy is pictured here holding one of her Horsehair Pottery vases. Horsehair Pottery is absolutely beautiful non-functional pottery made from white clay that has been bisque fired. Find some time this weekend to treat yourself to the creative atmosphere that is Tannery Row Artist Colony, and ask Judy about the rest of the work that goes into making Horsehair Pottery…you will be inspired.

Veterans Day – Thank you

November 11, 2010 by Rose Caplan

To the men and women of the armed forces who defend our Constitution and keep us safe at home and abroad, and to the Veterans who have done the same, and to their families; and to the families and loved ones of the wounded and fallen soliders…we salute you and thank you every day, and especially on this Veterans’ Day 2010, for your service. We are humbled by your sacrifice.

Wednesday Wide Smile

November 10, 2010 by Rose Caplan

Tomorrow is Veteran’s Day. If you are looking for a way to say thanks to our military, we came across an appropriately named organization, The Thank You Foundation. Its mission is to to show appreciation and express gratitude for members of the U.S. Military both past and present.

The Foundation accomplishes its mission by offering programs and services for Veterans, Military Personnel, and their Families. It believes that words of gratitude need to be followed with action and a commitment to meet the varied needs of the community it serves and to help . . . try to meet the needs of those that have given so much for our freedom.

Here is one program The Thank You Foundation has to meet its mission:

The Thank You Foundation delivers the Kroger Neighborhood Rewards Program and makes it easy to help “Support the Troops” and our Veterans simply by shopping at Kroger.

HERE’S HOW

You may link to The Thank You Foundation here to obtain a Kroger Gift Card.

After you receive the card from The Thank You Foundation take it to any Kroger or any Kroger owned store and load it with a cash value of anything between $10 – $250.

Then use the card to make purchases just like a debit or credit card.

Each quarter Kroger will donate 4% of the total value of all cards distributed by The Thank You Foundation back to the foundation to be used by them to continue their “Mission of Appreciation” and to send care packages, honor Veterans, support military families and other programs offered by the foundation.

If I see something I can change, I change it.
If I can’t change it, I change the way I think about it.

Monday Motivational Quotes

November 1, 2010 by Rose Caplan

Today’s MMQ is an affirmation from selfesteem2go.com

I am able to positively influence my own life.

Think about ways to prove your affirmations when you say them. Actively pursue the things you state are true, and they will increase their validity to your life. Find a way to make it easy for you to do positive daily affirmations. Make them when you are doing daily routine stuff, like showering or brushing your teeth; do them in the car driving to work and while waiting for an important meeting. You will be changing negative thought patterns and training your brain to be positive while lowering your stress level.
