Feed Your Good Dog

Positive Thoughts | Positive Actions | Positive Results

How and Why Feed Your Good Dog

In the Fall of 2008, we came across a story that is based on a Native American proverb … a story of an American Indian man teaching his grandson about the struggle to be the best person he could be, and how everyone fights this struggle daily.  The choices we make as we go through our daily lives shape not just our lives but those whose lives we touch, and those whose lives they touch, and so on.

We were so moved by this story that we wanted to share its message, so we created Feed Your Good Dog.  Our concept is simple – a positive thought leads to positive action which, in turn, leads to a positive result or outcome.   When we choose a positive attitude we are better able to serve ourselves and others.  Through service to others we improve ourselves, and the lives of those around us … and, we never know just how far reaching that influence may be.

We hope you visit our website, facebook or twitter spaces often and that when you do you will be inspired by the posted motivational quotes, good deed stories, healthy recipes, or uplifting short videos made solely to make us smile.

We would love to hear from you so please comment if you are so moved to do or email us and let us know how you Feed Your Good Dog.

Remember…Feed Your Good Dog, so your good dog always wins!

Feed Your Good Dog Story

Based on a Native American proverb...

A tribal elder is teaching his grandson about life. "A fight is going on inside me," he says to the boy.

"It is a terrible fight and it is between two dogs. One is evil - he is anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego."

He continues, "The other is good - he is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith. The same fight is going on inside you - and inside every other person, too."

The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asks his grandfather, "Which dog will win?"

The chief simply replied,"The one you feed."
